The Association between Physical Symptoms and Depression among Medical Students in Egypt

๐Ÿšจ Medical students in Egypt face a silent struggle! This study uncovers the hidden link between depression and physical symptoms among future doctors. With 66.5% showing moderate to severe depression and 72.9% suffering from physical symptoms, the results reveal how the heavy academic load is taking a toll not just mentally, but physically. Interestingly, being in a relationship or working alongside studies seemed to protect students from higher depression and symptom scores. ๐Ÿ‘‰ This paper sheds light on the urgent need for mental health support programs in medical schools and highlights how social and lifestyle factors can buffer against stress.
