The Association between Physical Symptoms and Depression among Medical Students in Egypt

🚨 Medical students in Egypt face a silent struggle! This study uncovers the hidden link between depression and physical symptoms among future doctors. With 66.5% showing moderate to severe depression and 72.9% suffering from physical symptoms, the results reveal how the heavy academic load is taking a toll not just mentally, but physically. Interestingly, being in a relationship or working alongside studies seemed to protect students from higher depression and symptom scores. 👉 This paper sheds light on the urgent need for mental health support programs in medical schools and highlights how social and lifestyle factors can buffer against stress.
